Posted in the topic Is a Netgear SFP Module Still Worth Buying in 2026? in the Forum Off-Topic Discussions
      May 26, 2026 7:39 AM PDT

Last month, I helped upgrade a small office network that kept slowing down during peak hours. Instead of replacing everything, we tested a Netgear SFP module to improve fiber connectivity and expand flexibility. Surprisingly, setup was simple and performance became noticeably more stable.

That got me thinking are these modules still worth it in 2026? If you already use compatible hardware and want a cost-effective network upgrade, they still seem like a practical choice. Curious to hear: are people sticking with branded modules or moving to alternatives?
